Mechanical Trouble Shooting
Fault description:
1. Outlet pressure of booster pump lower than normal

Analysis of causes=
- The water inlet valve of the equipment is blocked or not fully opened
- Equipment water inlet filter blocked
- Not discharge air from the pump
- Impeller of booster pump is worn or severely corroded
- Check the equipment inlet valve and handle it
- Cleaning filter
- Loosen the discharge cock of booster pump to discharge air
- Replace Impeller
and there is no pressure at the pump outlet
Analysis of causes=
- The pump is not filled with water
- The booster pump is not tuming correctly
- The booster pump shall be stopped immediately, and the water supply pressure of the equipment shall be checked. The water supply pressure of the equipment shall be positive.
- Replace the two pole power supply on the starter

- Shaft seal leakage
- Pressure cylinder severely corroded
- Replace shaft seal
- Replace pressure cylinder
4. Vibration and abnormal noise of booster pump

8. The sea water flow is lower than the design value, and the outlet pressure of high pressure pump cannot be adjusted to the design pressure

Solutions=
- Disassemble the high pressure pump and check the wear of each component
9. High pressure pump inlet low pressure alarm
Analysis of causes=
- Pressure drop of filter system is too large
- High pressure pump inlet pipe leaking
- Multi-way valve damaged, seawater flowing into backwash pipeline
- Low pressure switch setting value higher than normal
Solutions=
- Incerease backwash frequency of sand filter or replace filter element
- Repair leaks
- Replace multi-way valve
- Adjust the setting value of low pressure switch to 0.05MPa
10. The seawater flow is normal, and the outlet pressure of high-pressure pump cannot be adjusted to the design pressure.

- Pressure regulating valve failure

- Replace pressure regulating valve
11. The water production flow is obviously higher than the design value and the salinity is obviously higher than the set value.

- The sealing ring between reverse Osmosis membranes is not installed in place or damaged
- Reverse Osmosis membrane damaged

- Check sealing ring and refit
- Replace membrane
12. High pressure pump inlet and outlet pressure gauges have high vibration frequency and large amplitude.

- There is air in the high pressure pump

- Open the exhaust valve of the high-pressure pump to discharge the air
13. The water yield flow is lower than the design value
Analysis of causes=
- Ro pressure below demand
- RO membrane element is fouled
- Sea water temperature reduction
Solutions=
- Slowly rotate the pressure regulating valve clockwise to increase the reverse osmosis pressure
- Chemical cleaning or replacement reverse osmosis membrane
- Slowly rotate the presure regulating valve clockwise to increase the reverse osmosis pressure.
14. When the reverse osmosis pressure is lower than 6MPa. the system will give high pressure alam and shut down

- The setting value of high pressure switch is too low or damaged
Solutions=
- Readjust or replace the high pressure switch
15. The pointer of pressure gauge does not return to zero or the display pressure is abnormal

16. When the equipment produces water, the safety valve of the water production pipeline open

17. The conductivity value of produced water deviates from the factory setting value
Analysis of causes=
- Salinity meter probe corrosion
- Salinity probe calibration offset

- Replace salinity meter probe
18. Controller fuse is blown at system start
Analysis of causes=
- Transformer fault
- line short circuit
Solutions =
- Replace the transformer
- Recheck the wiring and correct the wiring
19. System will not stop when STOP button is depressed High pressure pump does not delay standby after pressing "stop"

- Control panel defective
Solutions =
- Replace control panel
20. Solenoid valves don't change from overboard mode to water production mode
Analysis of causes=
- Loose connecting post or wiring error
- Solenoid coil damaged
Solutions =
- Check wiring and correct
- Replace solenoid coil
21. Booster pump does not start
Analysis of causes=
- Motor fault
- Overload protection previously cut in
- Control panel defective

- Repair or replace the motor
- Reset the protection
- Replace control panel
22. The overload protection cuts is-systematically

- Incorrect setting
- Pump head or flow out of rating
Solutions=
- Set to rated amperage
- Adjust the valve to reduce the pump outlet pressure or flow
